Thanks to all who joined us for the livestreamed finale of our Fall 2020 virtual season as we showcased our work on Johann Sebastian Bach’s Mass in B Minor.

Vallejo Choral Society: Season 103 | Program 1 | December 2020 Finale

Makes No Difference Where You Are

Join Vallejo Choral Society as we begin our 103rd Season by celebrating Bach!

You are cordially invited to join us for a unique series of online presentations, rehearsals, and workshops led by VCS Artistic Director Derek Tam, featuring Johann Sebastian Bach’s Mass in B minor.

This series is open to all music lovers everywhere—no singing experience required.

On September 2, 2020, early music specialist Derek Tam opens the series with an original presentation of compositional and historical insights on Bach’s Mass in B minor, one of the most profound and astounding works ever written.

This first session is free and open to the public!

Each Wednesday thereafter, Derek leads unique, interactive sessions that integrate musicianship, vocal technique, sight-singing, small-ensemble demonstration, and master-class critique. The program culminates in virtual-choir productions of two movements from the mass.

With Bach’s great mass as the framework, our weekly online gatherings are expertly designed to serve as a catalyst for members’ individual growth as choral singers and musicians, while offering enriching shared experiences within our choral community.

Technical help with zoom and virtual-choir recording is freely available.
