Our March Gala Concert, I’m Bound Away, explores the many meanings and moods of water through a rich variety of choral music. From the haunting Mexican folk song La Llorona and the longing of Holst’s I Love My Love to the sacred imagery of Palestrina’s Sicut cervus and the spiritual Wade in the Water, the program evokes water as a source of life, love, journey, and transformation. Shenandoah, Debussy’s luminous Beau Soir, and the contemporary Water Fountain by tUnE-yArDs add contrasting colors and perspectives, creating a program that flows from the deeply traditional to the exuberantly modern.
