Vallejo Choral Society is excited to welcome John Montanero as our new Youth Chorus Director!
John Montanero is a musician, choral director, and music educator with over two decades of experience working with singers of all ages. He currently conducts the Schola at Contra Costa College in San Pablo, where he has been an instructor in the Music Department for 20 years. In addition, he teaches music and conducts the student choir at St. Paul’s K-8 School in San Pablo, and he is Music Director at St. Anne in Walnut Creek.
A Vallejo resident for the past 24 years, John has served as the Music Director at St. Vincent Ferrer Church and St. Basil Parish. John earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Temple University’s Esther Boyer College of Music in Philadelphia, and his Master of Music degree at the University of the Pacific’s Conservatory of Music (Stockton), studying voice, choral conducting, and orchestral conducting.
John will be leading the Campanelli Youth Chorus After-School Class at GVRD’s Vallejo Community Center starting October 8!
