Vallejo Choral Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit performing arts organization dedicated to fostering a vibrant, diverse, and engaging choral community. Our mission is to educate and inspire singers and audiences alike, while extending our reach to young musicians through Student Scholarships and the Campanelli Youth Chorus.

In good times, Vallejo Choral Society presents outstanding concerts and offers its singers enriching opportunities to perform choral masterworks. In times of challenge, VCS remains a unifying and sustaining force—keeping our extended choral community connected, inspired, singing, and learning through innovative programming.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, VCS responded with creativity and resilience, launching distinctive 12-week virtual programs that culminated in livestreamed performances of Bach and Handel masterworks. In December 2021, the Choral Society returned triumphantly to live performance with concerts featuring Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, followed by a rousing season finale of Orff’s Carmina Burana, memorably staged among rows of whisky barrels at a Mare Island distillery.

Now 50 voices strong, Vallejo Choral Society is enjoying a new heyday, presenting dynamic concerts to packed houses of enthusiastic listeners. Under the visionary artistic leadership of Julia Morris, VCS has delivered compelling performances of challenging works by some of the world’s most celebrated composers, including Bach, Britten, Brahms, Bonds, Daley, Haydn, Vivaldi, Trumbore, Price, and Vaughan Williams.

With over a century of history, Vallejo Choral Society is rooted in tradition and fueled by the passion of its singers and the strength of its community. VCS carries its rich legacy forward with bold artistic vision, a commitment to excellence, and a steadfast belief in the power of choral music to connect, uplift, and transform.
